Another Fun Framework
With all of the ColdFusion frameworks that have been released this year, this feels a little like "me to". The fact of the matter, however, is that this framework has been in development for a few years and is being used on a dozens of sites. Moreover, it is different from other ColdFusion frameworks in some pretty significant ways.
The framework doesn't have a name yet. I have been calling it "AFF" ("Another Fun Framework" or "Anti-Frameworks Framework") so far, but it needs a better name pretty soon. I'm open to suggestions, of course.
I wasn't sure how to approach my first blog entry on the framework, so I decided to just answer the questions that I normally ask when I see a framework.
I've been using this framework since it was first hatched and am pleased to recommend it highly. I am a heavy user of all of Steve's tools (and his advice), and the framework and code generator have made me a true addict; I don't know how I could do my job without them. He has worked very hard to make it intuitive and idiot-proof, though your mileage may vary depending on your immediate level of idiocy -- mine can reach critical levels from time to time.
I'll leave the gory technical details to Steve and his blog, I just wanted to take the time as a daily user of the framework to give it a thumbs up to anyone considering using it.

Tim has been a huge help on the framework. From helping with ideas and code to finding bugs, his assistance has been invaluable. To the extent that the framework is any good, Tim deserves much of the credit. To the extent that it still has problems, the blame is mine alone.
This framework definitely takes a less minimalistic approach than his.
