This week had some big news. Firstly, ColdFusion community staple, Steve "Cutter" Blades, just announced the publication of "Learning Ext JS". Congrats, Steve!

In other news, CFUnited registration is open and CF Doc's UKCFUG podcast had their first episode. All this and a great selection of blog entries (including the discover of a new operator in ColdFusion).

DataMgr SmartCache

Way back in January, I released the first Alpha build of DataMgr 2.2 (I still can't believe how long I have let development stretch out). In the announcement for that build, I mentioned a new experimental feature called "SmartCache", but I never explained what it was.

Scripting IIS: Change Web Root

I recently had a need to be able to set the IIS web root from ColdFusion. This is for development on a local machine (where IIS can have only one web root). To do this, I took advantage of the load_iis.bat that my friend Jason Holden created.

Peter Bell is back! This is good news overall, but did result in some hard decisions as he posted a large selection of great entries. In addition to a great selection of blog entries (including, painfully, just one by Peter), I also have a bonus section of the OO discussion resulting largely from Ben Nadel's recent trip to take Hal Helms class on OO.
